Programmes offered in School of Education

The main aim of this University is to provide quality education coupled with value-based orientation with comparably very low fee structure accessible to poor and middle class people of the Society. Realizing the importance of teachers in shaping the society the Management of SCSVMV University decided to establish School of Education under which Bachelor in Education degree was offered. School of Education has a reputation of being one of the best in providing quality teacher education programmes in Kancheepuram and has already placed in more than 70 students in TNTET exams since inception in 2007. From the beginning, School of Education is offering Ph.D., in Education to develop research competency and promote basic research in the field of education. Additionally, in strengthening research competency and to prepare teacher for research in Ph.D., program, M.Phil., in Education (Part-time) is offered by the department since 2014-15 batch.

B.Ed (Tamil, English, Maths, Physical Science, Biological Science, History, Commerce, Computer Science , Engineering) (Approved by NCTE)
50% Marks in Graduation and / or Post Graduation for OC. 45% Marks in Graduation and / or Post Graduation for BC. 43% Marks in Graduation and / or Post Graduation for MBC. 40 % for SC/ST
M.Phil Education
Eligibility criteria to M.Phil. program is that the candidate should be a citizen of India, with 10+2+3+2 pattern or equivalent in India. 55% of marks in M.Ed from a recognized university is mandatory for admission. Admission to M.Phil., program is open from May month onwards for every academic year. Duration of programme is 1 ½ years.
Admission Procedure
Admission procedure is followed as per the norms prescribed by the NCTE. Both marks obtained in the qualifying examination and the score obtained in the admission test (if any) will be given due weightage for the admission into B.Ed course. Due to lack of more number of applications entrance examination was not conducted and admission was given on the basis of the marks obtained by the candidates
