BIOS 2009
The
Department of Computer Science conducted
BIOS 2009, a national level technical symposium on October 8 and 9, 2009. The seventh edition of BIOS saw the participation of students and members from various colleges and Universities. The event was inaugurated by
Prof. A.Ramar, Head of the Department, Computer Science, National Engineering College, Kovilaptti. Various technical events like
paper presentation, technical quiz, Debugging, Project Presentation etc. were conducted on both days. In addition, Knowledge corners(K-Corners) focussing on cutting-edge research and development areas of Computer Science were put up by the students. A cultural fest on the first evening was an added attraction. The event concluded with the valedictory function on day 2 - October 2009 in which
Mr. Shivram, Vice President, TCS, Chennai was the Chief Guest. In his
address, Mr. Shivram outlined the expectations of the industry from the graduates.
Mr. V.Somayajulu, General Manager, Indian Bank, Circle Office, Kanchipuram, participated as a guest of honour and gave away prizes and certificates to all the winners. The event was convened by
Dr. S. Rajalakshmi, Head, Computer Science and Engineering Department, and coordinated by
Ms. Senkamalavalli, Lecturer, CSE Department. Corporate sponsors for the event included
Tata Consultancy Services, Indian Bank, City Union Bank, IFX and SRM Infotech, ABE Solutions, Five Star Engineering Solutions, Shanta Biotech- Hyderabad, New India Assurance and several other organizations.
