A brief report on the Introduction A National level workshop on Alternative fuels and lubricant impact on IC engine has been held at Department of Mechanical Engineering, SCSVMV University on December 17-18, 2009. The workshop has been organized for facilitating presentation of unpublished material, discussion and promotion of interest on alternative fuels and lubricant impact on IC engines. An additional goal was to set up networks to facilitate future research collaboration between researchers in this emerging interdisciplinary area. Workshop Participants Nine lectures of duration of about one hour have been presented by the eminent speakers from various esteemed organization and over 60 faculties and researchers from India. The workshop was held on two days and was divided into 4sessions. Discussion & Summary All the sessions were very well attended by the faculties, students & Researchers from India. The presentations by the speakers were appreciated very much by the audience and there were interesting discussion between the faculty from different background after the presentations, during coffee breaks, and during lunch. After the each presentation, the participants were given full opportunity to ask questions and comment on the presentations and the workshop in general. Everyone felt that the workshop was a success and most felt that workshop like these are very helpful, interesting and should be repeated. A CD containing the abstracts, available papers and presentations of the speakers were prepared and handed out to all the participants. This would enable wide publicity and anyone can access the material. We also wish to thank our SCSVMV authorities for sponsoring this kind of event. |
