The Association of Indian Universities [AIU] and Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, New Delhi jointly organized the 25th National Inter-University Youth Festival at the Maharishi Dayanad University, Rohtak, Haryana from 2-6, Feb 2010. Around 63 Universities from the country were selected to participate in this national-level festival after qualifying from their respective zonal-level festivals. Four Universities from Tamilnadu [Avinashilingam women’s Univ, Gandhigram Rural Univ, Manonmaniam Sundaranar Univ and SCSVMV] were selected for participation in this prestigious festival. Our MIME team gave a performance that highlighted the problems faced by the girl child in the society. This drew widespread appreciation from the judges and spectators and the team was awarded the Fourth prize. The Chief Minister of Haryana Shri. Bupendar Singh Hooda inaugurated the festival. Union Minister Shri. Pranab Mukherjee and Prof. Beena Shah, Secretary General, AIU addressed the participants. Medals and prizes were given by the Education Minister of Haryana.

           The Vice Chancellor Prof.V.Shivkumar, Registrar Dr.Jayalakshmi, Chief Administrative Officer Sri.Ramachandran,Dean (Academics) Prof. A.Ravi, Dean (HR, Training & Placement)Prof. V.G.Sarangan and Dean (Sanskrit & Indian Culture) Prof.Dr.V.S.Vishnupotty congratulated the student participants, trainers and staff.
