Seminar conducted on Disaster Management

The department of civil and structural engineering conducted a seminar on disaster management on 17-08-2012. The meeting was precided by Prof.K.C.Srinivas, Dean(E&T).

The chief guest is an eminent scientist from center for disaster preparedness, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Dr.V.Hari Prasad,B.Tech(civil engg.), M.Tech(Hydraulics) and Ph.D(Water resource engg.). Mr.Hari Prasad is the former employee of ISRO, Dehradun. The speaker explained the systems followed by the government for disaster preparedness and disaster management. He has explained the uses of geographical information system and how best the G.I.S can be used for disaster management.

The seminar was attended by the second year, third year and fourth year students. The meeting was concluded with the vote of thanks by Mr.N.Seshadri Sekhar.
