The department of civil & structural engineering has successfully conducted an extensive survey camp in the academic year 2012-2013 dated from 09-07-2012 to 13-07-2012. The camp is conducted in the vicinity of Mamundur hills near Dusi village, Thiruvannamalai district. This first event conducted by the department of civil & structural engineering after indulging the department in the university.
The camp is headed by the Head of the Department Mr. N.Seshadri Sekhar and guided by staff Mr. P.Sundarapandian, Mr. V.John Sundar raj, Mr. M.Suresh Kumar, Mr. K.Vasu,
Mr.M.Dinesh, Mrs. P.Meenakshi, Mrs. R.Sumathi, Mrs. K.Ambiga and supported by the supporting staff Mr. D.Elangovan, Mr. J.Jaisankar.
All the students from the batch 2010-2014 have attended the camp. In the five day period the students has got an extensive idea about the surveying field in the industrial point of view. The experiments carried out by the students during the camp period are as follows

Ø Plot marking
Ø L/S and C/S of a road section
Ø Trigonometrical survey

2. Single plane method
The last day of the camp ended up with the cultural activities performed by the students in the afternoon session on 13-07-2012 in the site.
