The Foundation day of CSIR was celebrated by the Structural Engineering Research Center on 24th September 2012. Since the students are allowed to visit the laboratories on that day, about 55 students were taken to Structural Engineering Research Center, Taramani, Chennai. The students visited the laboratories of Structural Engineering Research Center. The scientists explained the importance of the equipments, Procedures of testing, Test Results, different types of the materials and the accuracies of the test results. When the students visited the Earthquake Engineering laboratory and Dynamics Laboratory they learnt the subject and some of the students intended to do the project on dynamics of the structures. The Students asked some questions and got the details from the scientists regarding the situation to use the equipments and the cost of the equipments. The short visit to the SERC was very useful to the students
