The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, a Department under “Faculty of Engineering and Technology” had organised a “Regional Workshop on Research Methodology” on 30 August, 2013 at Adi Sankara Study Centre, SCSVMV University, Kanchipuram.
Research scholars, Faculty and students from various branches of Science, Engineering and Technology like Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology and Computer Application , 64 in total has participated in the Workshop. The Workshop was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. V.S.Vishnu Potty, Hon. Vice-Chancellor of SCSVMV University. The Vice-Chancellor had stressed the need of the hour for the faculty to pursue the Ph.D. He had highlighted the infrastructure and facilities available in the University for the Research Scholars. Prof.Dr.M.Sivanandam, HOD, welcomed the gathering. Prof.Dr.T.Venugopal, Director (Research and Publications) explained the Ph.D course offered in the University, the status of past and present Research Scholars and Research activities of the University. Prof.K.C.Srinivas, Dean (Engineering & Technology) has highlighted the importance of Ph.D in Science, Engineering and Technology. He called the Research Scholars to bring name and fame to the University by quality research work and publications of scholarly articles in the referred journals with high impact factor.
Prof.Dr.S.Ravi, Professor & Head of Dr.M.G.R.University, Prof.Dr.Uma Rajaram, Dean (Engineering & Technology) of Dr.M.G.R.University and Prof.Dr.Kumar of Namakkal Engineering College were the resource persons. The workshop covered diverse topics like Selection of Research Broad Area, Optimising the Research Topic, Selection of Research Guide, Half yearly Reviews, Publication of Research papers in referred National and International Journals, Impact Factor, Citation Index, Preparation of Synopsis & Thesis Reports, Public Viva etc. The presentation was supported with Audio & Video Clippings which was welcomed and appreciated by the participants.
The valedictory address was delivered by Prof.Dr.G.Srinivasu, Registrar of SCSVMV University. The Registrar highlighted the need to execute Sponsored projects and organise National and international Conference with financial support from funding agencies. The Registrar had distributed the Participation Certificates. Prof.Sriram had anchored the events. Prof.P.Venkatesan had delivered the vote of thanks.
The participants observed the Workshop as highly practical and useful in pursuing the research and improve the quality of Research and bring name and fame to the University.
