NCICA 2015



The National Conference on “Instrumentation, control and Automation” was held on 12th Feb.2015 at Sri Adi Sankara Study Center, Library Hall, SCSVMV University.  This was the first national conference organized by the Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering. The purpose of the conference was to highlight the research areas and scope in the field of Instrumentation and Control Systems.  The nominated keynote speakers are Dr. S. Narayana Iyer, Retd. Prof., BIT Durgapur, Dr. R. Senthil, Dean (Research) & HOD Dept of EIE, KCG College of Technology, Chennai  and Dr. I. Thirunavukkarasu, Associate Professor, Dept. of ICE, Manipal University, Manipal.

Prof. V. Swaminathan, Head of the Department, welcomed all the dignitaries on the dais and off the dais.  Dr. G. Sriram, Dean (Engineering and Technology), delivered a inaugural address in the gathering.   Dr. G. Srinivasu, Registrar delivered a presidential address in the gathering.  The Registrar and the dignitaries inaugurated this NCICA by lighting the kuthuvilaku. The dignitaries are honoured by the registrar and the dean with a shawl and memento.

The conference was divided into two sessions.  The first session started with opening remarks by Dr S. Narayana Iyer, Retd. Prof., BIT Durgapur. He highlighted the problems and scope for research in the areas like MIMO, Loop Shaping and Model Predictive Control.  His discussions on PID Controller for linear systems were followed by the Dr. R. Senthil, Dean (Research) & HOD Dept of EIE, KCG College of Technology, Chennai.  He highlighted the Issues in Real time Implementation of PID Controller in the Industries and the difficulties faced by the Industry.  Dr. I. Thirunavukkarasu, Associate Professor, Dept. of ICE, Manipal University followed the discussion on Design of PID Control for Non-Linear Control System(Conical Level Tank Process).

The Second session started in the noon of the same day with the presentation of papers from various other colleges/universities by the faculty and research scholars.  The session was interactive with the experts and the participants.  The experts shared their ideas and suggestion to the participants.

NCICA ends with certificate distribution for the participants.
