RC AIRCRAFT WORKSHOP (8/09/2013-10/09/2013)
The department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering in Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Viswa Maha Vidhyalaya had organized a workshop on RC Aircraft Design and Fabrication. The workshop was a huge success with about 125 students participating and making 25 different aircrafts.
The workshop was organized for three days in different phases with job roles of making the fuse lag and the wings were assigned to the students who attended the workshop in teams of five. The first day kicked off with the inaugural ceremony being presided by the Registrar Prof. Dr. G. SRINIVASU and the other dignitaries including the Dean(E&T) Prof. K.C. SRINIVAS and the HOD /EIE Prof. V. SWAMINATHAN. The design, fabrication and building process took place before which there was the process of assembling the fuse lag, wings, rudders and other components.
The lecture sessions were very much interactive with interesting queries being answered by the experts. The entire student fraternity waited patiently for till all the aircrafts were complete. The post lunch session saw the beginning of the zero error tests in all the flying machines till every one called it a day.
The final phase of the workshop saw the much awaited flying session with the trial run being conducted in the morning followed by which a session was dedicated to explaining the discrepancies and the error rectification while making aircrafts. In the course of these processes the best aircrafts were selected for a set of awards, some of which include; Best Design Award, Best Innovative Idea, Best Fabrication Award. The flight session was graced with the presence of dignitaries including the vice chancellor Prof. Dr. V.S. VISHNU POTTY, the Registrar, the Dean (E&T) and the Heads of all departments in the university.
The certificates and the awards were distributed in the valedictory function which was presided by the Dean (E&T). The student fraternity thanked the management and the organizers for conducting a work shop of such kind.
