WORLD MATHEMATICS DAY HELIX-18 (INTERCOLLEGIATE MATHEMATICS MEET) 23.03.2018
The world Mathematics Day was held on 23rd March , 2018. The programme started with a welcome address by Prof. Dr K. Srinivasa Rao, Convener of the Programme, Professor and Head, Department of Mathematics. Prof. Dr S. Balaji, Dean, Faculty of Science and Prof. Dr T. Venugopal, Controller of Examinations and Director, Research & Publications delivered felicitation address. Dr J.Sengamalaselvi , organizing secretary of the programme introduced the chief guest Dr. C. Vijayalakshmi, Professor of the Mathematics, VIT, Chennai who delivered the Lecture on “Power of Mathematics”. Students from Various Departments of SCSVMV and also from various colleges, like Arulmigu Meenakshi Amman college of Engineering, Vadamavandal. Tucas college of Arts and Science, Thiruvallur. Gurunanak College, Chennai. St.Peter's Institute Of Higher Education And Research, Avadi. Sri Sankara Arts And Science College, Enathur. Rajalakshmi Institute Of Technology, Chennai, Pachaiyappa's College For Men, Anna University (Kanchipuram) Students actively Participated in the Events.
This programme is mainly organised for creating interest among the students in the field of Mathematics targeting Various Arts and Science college and Engineering students. Nearly 400 students participated in this programme.

During the valedictory function, The Chief Guest Prof. Dr. C.Vijayalakshmi , Prof. Dr T. Venugopal, Controller of Examinations, Director, Research & Publication and Prof. Dr . S.Balaji , Dean faculty of Science Prof. Dr K. Srinivasa Rao, Convener of the Programme, Professor and Head, Department of Mathematics distributed the certificates to the participants. This program came to an end in a grand manner with the vote of thanks proposed by P.Hemavilashini III-B.Sc ( Mathematics ).
