SCSVMV UNIVERSITY - NSS SPECIAL CAMP (22.02.2014-28.02.2014)
CAMP @ PUNJAI ARASANTHANGAL VILLAGE
SCSVMV University NSS Special Camp was inaugurated on 22.02.2014 at Punjai arasanthangal Village near Kanchipuram at 10.00 am. The camp was conducted for 7 days with free eye camp, Ayurveda camp , general medical screening camp, and veterinary camp along with temple and school cleaning. The NSS Programme Coordinator Mr.M.Sundarrajan welcomed the gathering. The vice Chancellor of SCSVMV University Prof. Dr. V.S.Vishnu Potty inaugurated the camp and talked about the importance of National Social Service. The Dean (Education & Science) Prof.Dr.K.V.S.N Moorthy felicitated and addressed the gathering. He talked about the concept of education through experience. The village president Mr.V.R. Boopathi , other ward councilors and members felicitated the gathering along with ward councellors and members. The NSS programme officers Mr.B.Muthukumaran, Mr. J.S. Shyam mohan and Mrs. Rajalakshmi gave vote of thanks.
Free general medical screening camp, eye camp, ayurveda medical camp, veterinary camp and temple cleaning were conducted during the camp period. Nearly 100 NSS volunteers participated in all the camps and rendered the service effectively. The activities were coordinated by the NSS Programme Coordinator Mr.M.Sundarrajan along with the Programme Officers Mr.B.Muthukumaran, Mr.J.S. Shyam Mohan and Mrs. K.Rajalakshmi.
The valedictory function was conducted on 28.02.2014 at 10 a.m. The registrar of the University Prof.Dr.G.Srinivasu issued certificates to the volunteers. The finance officer of the University Shri. Jeyaraman Ravindran and the Dean, faculty of Engineering and Technology, Prof. Dr. G. Sriram gave the valedictory address. The village president Mr. V.R. Boopathi thanked the University authorities and te NSS Wing for their services to the village and the people.
