INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON FUNCTIONAL MATERIALS [IWFM 2016] held on 29-11-2016.

An International workshop on Functional Materials was organised by the Department of Physics, SCSVMV University on 29th November 2016. Prof. Dr. K.Venkatramanan, Convener and Head, Dept. of Physics welcomed the gathering. Prof. V.Ragavendran, Organizing secretary and Assistant Professor of Physics explained the objectives of the workshop. Prof. Dr.V.S.Vishnu Potty, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of the University presided over the function. Prof.Dr. S.Balaji, Dean (Science) felicitated the gathering. Prof. Prof. Dr. A.L.Roy Vellaisamy, Department of Physics and Materials Science, City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong delivered a talk on “Functional materials for energy harvesting and Opto-electronics” and Prof. Dr.K.K.R. Datta, SRM Research Institute, SRM University, Chennai delivered a talk on “Functional Nanomaterials: Fluorographene Hybrids and Yellow Emitting Carbon Dots”. Prof. V.Ragavendran, Organizing secretary - IWFM 2016 proposed vote of thanks. Around 120 participants comprising of students, research scholars and faculty members from various academic and research institutions participated and benefitted from the workshop.
