About the Initiative

The AICTE IDEA (Idea, Development, Evaluation & Application) Lab is an initiative by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to promote innovation, design thinking, and entrepreneurship among students and faculty members in technical institutions. The IDEA Lab aims to create a hands-on learning environment where students can work on real-world problems using cutting-edge technologies.

The SCSVMV-AICTE-IDEA Lab has been provisionally selected under the AICTE IDEA Lab Scheme for the academic year 2024–2025, with a funding support of ₹0.90 crore. The lab is envisioned as a centre of innovation, creativity, and hands-on learning, empowering students and faculty to transform their ideas into functional prototypes. By providing state-of-the-art facilities and fostering design thinking, the initiative aims to cultivate 21st-century skills, enhance problem-solving abilities, and bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry needs.

IDEA Lab can facilitate the students and faculty to "engage, explore, experience, express and excel" as desired by the Hon'ble Prime Minister in the wake of release of NEP 2020.

To create a platform to experiment with ideas for qualitative change in the life within the town and proximity rural areas to foster the "Make in India" movement of the nation.

To foster an ecosystem of Digital Factory for testing, validation and transformation of ideas into products to support mission Atmanirbhar Bharat.

To establish a reference centre dedicated to the creation and quick prototyping of design concepts for technological transformation and innovation.
