SCSVMV has launched Bachelor of Optometry Course, from the academic year 2024-25. Optometry is a healthcare profession dealing with eye and vision care. In addition to providing glasses, an Optometrist provides corrective devices such as contact lenses and devices to support low vision. Optometrists, as primary healthcare practitioners are often the first ones to catch the changes in the eye due to diseases such as diabetes and arteriosclerosis, leading to early diagnosis and treatment. Today ophthalmologists and optometrists work as a team.

In consonance to the vision of our University, we wish to offer Bachelor in Optometry to the student community and develop experienced and skilled health care professionals who can choose general practice or select such specialties as contact lenses, vision therapy, and orthotics, learning disabilities, pediatrics and occupational vision.

We have tie-ups with renowned eye hospitals, wherein our students will gain practical, hands on experience in patient care and rehabilitation under professional guidance.
