ROBOTICS AND AUTOMATION CENTRE (RAC)
The Robotics and Automation Centre (RAC) was inaugurated on September 12, 2025, at Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Viswa Mahavidyalaya (SCSVMV), a Deemed-to-be University accredited with a NAAC “A” grade, in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, with the investment of Rs 72 Lakhs as part of L&T Valves’ CSR initiative.
The inauguration was graced with the benign blessings and presence of His Holiness Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetadhipati Jagadguru Pujyasri Sankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamigal. The Centre was inaugurated by Sri S. Kalyanaraman, Executive Vice President & Head, Industrial Machinery Business, Larsen & Toubro Limited. This cutting-edge facility is intended to encourage innovative robotics and automation research and education, encouraging creativity and skill development in both faculty and student community. With its cutting-edge robotic systems, automation controllers, and simulation tools, the centre serves as a foundation for initiatives that addresses the societal demands and industrial problems. With an emphasis on collaboration, hands-on training, and real-world applications, it aims to create a transformative impact in the field.
By encouraging interdisciplinary cooperation, it seeks to fill the gap between theoretical concepts and real-world applications. Students and researchers are able to capitalize on cutting-edge projects at the centre to its sophisticated facilities, which include robotic arms, mobile robots, automation controllers, machine vision systems, and simulation software.
