PREAMBLE

Kanchipuram, one of the most sacred cities in India is a famous centre for learning Vedas, Sastras, Philosophy and all the branches of knowledge (Ghaṭikāsthānam) from the very beginning. To revive the lost grandeur, Paramacharya of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham established Nyaya Sastra Mahavidyalaya to teach our ancient Sastras. During 1993, at the holy occasion of centenary celebrations of Paramacharya, with the blessings of His Holiness Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamiji and His Holiness Sri Sankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamiji, the university was inaugurated with the name of their illustrious Guru, Pujya Sri Chandrasekhrendra Saraswathi Swamiji.
It is one of the reputed institutions of higher studies in Sanskrit in the country.
To achieve the noble objectives, the institution is offering many innovative programmes in Sanskrit as well as in modern education.
To propagate our ancient culture, Value based education system is adopted to mould the younger generation embedded with modern technologies.

Vidyām ca Avidyām ca, Yastad veda ubhayam saḥ
Avidyayā mṛtyum tīrttvā, Vidyayā amṛtam aśnute.

To mould a new generation of citizens with confidence, self dependence, self realization, scientific temper, rational thinking, professionalism, thirst for knowledge, satisfaction, contentment and pleasure.
To bring to light the knowledge in Sanskrit through publication of rare and unpublished manuscripts and the research works pursued.
To initiate efforts to fulfill the wishes of the Acharyas of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham, to reestablish the fame of Kanchi as a seat of learning by imparting traditional knowledge in all fields with the support of Sanskrit language and literature.

To bring Vedic learning with a code of syllabus.
To offer unique degree programmes leading to Ph.D.
To graduate the students of Sanskrit in the contemporary work situation.
To conduct research in the Vedic system and relate the same to the present day scientific developments and needs of humanity.
To offer integrated courses in Vedas, Humanities and applied Social Sciences and Technology.
To offer value added orientation programmes.
To offer online programmes for the propogation of Sanskrit learning.
To organize faculty development programmes.
To establish various centres for research in specialised areas.
