DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE

The Department of Commerce, established in 2014 under the Faculty of Management Studies, HR, and Commerce, has been instrumental in shaping the educational landscape by offering various programs catering to the evolving needs of students. Beginning with the Undergraduate program in Commerce in 2014, the department has consistently expanded its offerings to meet the demands of the contemporary academic sphere.

By launching the Postgraduate programme in Commerce in 2017, the department demonstrated its continued dedication to academic quality and gave students the advanced knowledge and abilities they needed to succeed in their chosen fields. 

The cultivation of a generation of young minds through the support of inquirers, thinkers, and articulate individuals is at the core of its mission; this will enable them to boldly navigate the global stage and compete with the brightest minds on the planet. The Department of Commerce guarantees that its students are not just academically skilled but also culturally sensitive and globally aware by embracing both tradition and innovation.

The Department of Commerce stays steady in its pursuit of academic and personal development, ensuring that its students are ready to tackle the challenges and possibilities of tomorrow’s world through its creative programmes, committed professors, and dedication to quality.

OBJECTIVES:

  • To inculcate ethical values & commitment to society among the staff and students.
  • To instil the courage and confidence in the students to handle the challenges of life.
  • Strengthening the spoken and written communication skills of the students.
  • Designing a curriculum that provides a sound foundation to students who plan to pursue professional programmes like CA, ICMA, ACS, M. Com and MBA.
  • Fostering Global Competencies among Students by introducing flipped classroom model and facilitating interactive instructional design based on updated bloom’s taxonomy.
  • To strengthen the teaching in classrooms and encourage the integration of community resources beyond the walls of the classroom by engaging the students in social/community projects.
  • To guide the students in choosing the right career path through a continuous mentoring process and arranging Guest Lectures by Professionals in practice.
