A LIBRARY IS NOT A LUXURY ITS NECESSITY OF LIFE
Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi International Library Established in 1995, housed in Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Diamond Jubilee mahal is a unique facility in the University. Spread across an area of 4640 sq.mtr occupying spacious accommodations in three floors, the library provides an ideal ambience for reflection and study. The library plays a vital role in supporting teaching learning and research through lending. Reference and enquiry services there are around 163735 books ,current periodicals and expanding range of electronic services including over 3000 CD ROMS of which the library dedicates a deserve a collection of books to the IT World and subscribes to over various national and international E-Journals.
General guidelines:
- Readers shall maintain perfect order and silence in the Library.
- Making noise, spitting or doing anything else which may disturb other readers or which may be against the discipline of the Library is strictly prohibited.
- All persons, permitted to use the Library shall not mutilate, disfigure, deface by writing in the margins or by underlining sentences or by marking passages or by damaging in any other way a book, periodical, map or chart or any other property of the library.
- A reader responsible for any damage caused to the reading materials or to any other property of the Library shall be required to replace the reading material or pay an appropriate amount, besides the penalty imposed upon him / her by the Librarian.
- If books issued to a member are found mutilated at the time of return he / she shall have to replace or pay the price thereof. Therefore, members are requested to check the conditions of the books thoroughly before getting them issued.
- No tracing or mechanical reproduction of any book or any other material shall be made without the prior permission of the Librarian.
- Readers shall vacate their seats fifteen minutes before the closing time of the library or earlier if the Librarian orders so.
- The Librarian reserves the right to surpass / cancel the membership privilege of any member found misbehaving with the Library staff or for any other indecent behaviour. Such a member is also liable to be expelled from the Library.
- When the students have any complaints about the services provided by the library, they should not enter into an argument with the Library staff. Instead, they are advised to either bring it to the notice of the Librarian or write the same in the Registrar kept separately in the Library office for this purpose.
- Any infringement of the Library Rules will disallow a member’s privilege of admission to the Library.
- In all other matters, the Librarian shall have the power to take such decisions he / she may deem fit from time to time.
- The Library Rules may be altered or amended or new rules may be added to the existing ones by the Librarian with the approval of the authorities from time to time without notice to the members and these rules or any such alternations or amendments to the rules shall be effective and binding on all concerned. A copy of these will be made available when asked for.
- The Library staff at the entrance and exit gates of the Library is authorized to check the person if he suspects that the member is carrying any unauthorized books or other reading materials or any other property belonging to the library.
- Please check whether the document is in good condition before you borrow it, if found as damaged condition while returning you will be asked to pay for the binding charges/replacement of the books whichever is needed based on the condition of the book.
In Short, the general do’s and don’ts are as mentioned below:
Do’s:
a)Scan the User id while entering/exiting the library
b)Fill your relevant details in the register which is available at the entrance.
c)Deposit your personal belongings at the entrance at your own risk
d)Keep Library premises clean and tidy
e)Handle the library materials with care
f)Report the loss of user id immediately
g)Keep your mobile phones in silent mode
Don’ts:
a)Do not Pilferage documents
b)Do not waste time to locate the documents
c)Do not misplace the documents
d)Do not replace the documents
e)Do not give your user id cards to others
f)Do not sub – lend any documents to others
g)Do not write or mark on the documents
h)Do not leave your personal items on tables
i)Do not bring eatables inside the library
j)Do not bring wet umbrella inside the library
k)Do not bring issued documents inside the library unless and otherwise you want to return the same.
THE LIBRARY CONTRIBUTES TO THE FULFILLMENT OF THE UNIVERSITY’S MISSION BY:
- Selecting, acquiring, organising, maintaining and making accessible a collection of printed and non-printed, primary and secondary materials that will support the educational, research and public service programmes of both students and the faculty.
- Responding to the varying needs of the academic community by involving the faculty, the students and the administration in the development and periodic assessment of the library services and resources.
- Providing library users with point-of-use instruction, personal assistance in conducting literature research and other reference services.
- Providing an environment conducive to the optimum use of library materials and an appropriate schedule of hours of service and professional assistance.
- Participating in overall computing resources plan and providing for full library utilization of automation technology, physical facilities and equipment adequate to process, catalogue and store the materials.
- Enhancing the library’s resources and services through cooperative relationship with other libraries and agencies.
The following persons are eligible to become the members of the Library, provided they are admitted as members, by the Librarian.
- All employees of the Mahavidyalaya HQ
- All students and Research Scholars (Full Time) of the Mahavidyalaya HQ
- Applicants recommended by the authorities of the Mahavidyalaya.

Steps to Start Spoken English Tutorial:
1. Create a Login ID and register into the Spoken Tutorial website. Registration Link: http://spoken-tutorial.org/accounts/register/ . Organiser Registration process(Faculty Coordinator Registration Instructions)
2. Prepare and upload the Master Batch. Instructions to upload Master Batch : Master Batch Instruction. (Note : For uploading a Participant list you have to create an MS Excel Sheet or LibreOffice Calc sheet with participant’s First name, Last name, Email ID and Gender. Email Id is must required)
3. Select the courses for the batch and fill the Semester Training Planner Form (STPF) Instructions to fill STP : Semester Training Planner (STP) Instruction, For complete list of software and brochure : Click Here

5. They are encouraged to revise thoroughly and come for an assessment test. After the online assessment test students will get their Completion Certificate, from Spoken Tutorial, IIT Bombay.
