The procedure for seeking admission to the courses in SCSVMV University consists of:
(i) Submission of admission applications to the University, and
(ii) Attending the counselling for the said course at the notified date, time and place.
( Additionally, Entrance test would be held for BE (Full Time) & MBA )
For B.E. Degree Course
Admission is based on the marks secured by the candidates in the prescribed subjects, in the qualifying examination [i.e. for HSC Academic: Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, and normalizing them by the prescribed procedure. Equal weightage will be given to all the three prescribed subjects. Wherever separate marks for practicals are awarded, the same will be considered along with the respective subjects, for arriving at the total actual marks. 90% of weightage will be given to +2 Marks and 10% of weightage will be given to test. The test comprises of 90 multiple choice questions 30 from mathematics, 30 from physics and 30 from chemistry.
For Candidates Applying for Admission to B.E. Degree course through JEE/UNI-GAUGE
Admission for Candidates applying to B.E Degree course through JEE/UNI-GAUGE, will be based on the actual merit marks secured by them in “JEE” -2017/UNI-GAUGE , and a separate merit list will be prepared for them. For such Candidates, the normalization procedure is not applicable.
For JEE candidates who qualified for advanced JEE there won't be further exam. For other JEE candidates 70% weightage will be given to JEE marks and if required there have to appear for an entrance examination
Display of Merit List
The Merit Lists will be displayed on the notice board of the Office of Admissions, SCSVMV University, and the same will also be made available in the official website www.kanchiuniv.ac.in No separate announcement will be made in the newspapers.
Counselling for Admission
Counselling for all the above degree courses will be conducted at SCSVMV University, Enathur, Kanchipuram. Candidates must be accompanied by the parents to the counselling session.
Date and Time
Candidates will be called for counselling as per their order of merit is each course. Candidates to be called for counselling will be intimated through call letters and in the official web site of SCSVMV University. No change of date / time of counselling is permissible. SCSVMV University will not be responsible for postal delay, if any, and non-delivery of counselling/intimation letters whatever be the reason (s) thereto. Candidates who do not attend the counselling on the specified date and time, have to forego their claim for admission. However, due to unforeseen circumstances and unavoidable reasons, if a candidate is unable to attend the counselling on the specified date and time, he / she can attend on a subsequent date and time during the counselling period for the course, with prior permission of “The Chairman, Admissions 2017, SCSVMV University”. But, the candidate can only opt for the seat available at that time and cannot claim any seat as per his / her original rank,for the course. In any case, counselling will not be done in the absence of candidates. Unfilled seats and vacancies, arising out of the dropouts of already admitted candidates, or due to the introduction of new courses, will be filled - up during the subsequent Counsellings. Details of such vacancies will be notified in the official web site of SCSVMV University and such information will also be updated periodically. Individual intimation will not be sent to candidates for Counselling of seats arising due to vacancies, for the reasons mentioned above. These vacancies “shall be open” to all candidates applied for admission through SCSVMV University, including the candidates already admitted during earlier counselling. No communication shall be sent to candidates who are not eligible to be called for counselling and no further correspondence in this regard, will also be entertained.

Verification of Original Certificates
Candidates called for counselling shall be required to submit all the documents in original for verification at the time of counselling. Candidates, who fail to produce the required documents in original, shall not be counselled.
Admission to all courses is based on the merit, category of the candidates, and the availability of seats at the time of counselling. At any time, if the SCSVMV University authorities find that admission has been offered based on false/ incorrect information/ documents and suppression of relevant facts, education qualification, the admission offered or the admission already completed shall be cancelled, irrespective of the stage of study of that course. Further, legal proceedings will also be initiated against such candidates for such action /(s). Hence, Candidates are warned against indulging in such action/ (s), in their own interest. All parents are also requested to make note of the above provision, and take due care and diligence, in all matters concerning admission to the various professional courses
