The School of Education, SCSVMV, organized a webinar on Behavior Management in Classrooms: From Control to Care on 12 June 2026 from 3:00 to 4:00 PM. The program began with a warm welcome address delivered by Mrs.J.Jayapriya, Head, School of Education, SCSVMV who emphasized the importance of nurturing classroom environments that balance discipline with empathy. This was followed by the presidential address by Prof.K.Venkataramanan, Dean, Faculty of Education, SCSVMV who highlighted the evolving role of teachers in fostering positive student behavior through care‑oriented strategies rather than rigid control. The keynote lecture was delivered by Dr.K.Venkatesan, Principal, Kanchi Shri Krishna College of Arts & Science, Kanchipuram. His insightful presentation explored practical approaches to behavior management, stressing the need for teachers to adopt empathetic communication, restorative practices, and student‑centered interventions. He illustrated how shifting from authoritarian methods to compassionate care can enhance classroom harmony, student engagement, and overall learning outcomes. The session was highly interactive, with participants gaining valuable perspectives on managing diverse classroom dynamics. The webinar concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Mr.R.Saravanan, Assistant Professor, School of Education, SCSVMV who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, the resource person, and the participants.
